Sometimes called 'The Big Wahoonie', Ankh-Morpork is the largest city on [[Discworld]]. It located on the eastern edge of the Circle Sea, and is the mercantile center of all the areas around the Circle Sea, and recently this has included areas as far as Uberwald, or in the other direction, Howandaland. Split into Ankh and Morpork by the Ankh River, the city is a mass of winding streets and sprawling houses. Ankh-Morpork has the largest dwarf population out of any city on the Disc, although this is hard to see because most of them are underground. The city itself is about one mile across in all directions, and has several distinctive areas and streets. For the sake of making things much easier, Kefka has allowed us here at the guide to use his maps. He has been updating them for some time, but would like to point out that Airk is the original creator of the map. A big thank you to both of them. [[Map of Ankh-Morpork]] There are several noticable neighborhood's to Ankh-Morpork, perhaps the most famous one being the Shades. The Shades is a viciously brutal place, where you will die if you aren't prepared. Ankh, north of the river, is the complete opposite. Almost every house here is a villa or larger, and the shops specilise in selling, if not the finer things in life, than at least the more expensive ones. In eastern Morpork, there is what could be called the temple district, where many of the Gods of the Disc have temples where their followers can worship them. The main street here is The Street of Small Gods. There is also The Street of Cunning Artificers, where many of the goods Ankh-Morpork produces are, well, produced. There are many different guilds that have areas in Ankh-Morpork. The five most well represented (read as: playable) are [[The Wizard's Guild]], the Assassin's Guild, the Thieves' Guild, the Warrior's Guild, and the Witches' Guild. Although there are many other guilds in the city, none of them can be joined by players. A few other notable parts of the city are the Isle of Gods, which sits almost exactly in the middle of the cities, in the Ankh River. This is the cultural center of the city, as well as the home of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch. Here is where you will find the Dysk, the largest theatre on the Disc, and the Retrophrenologist, a doctor who specilises in smacking people quite hard in the head.
